A listing that says 'maximum 30 guests' answers whether 30 may board, not whether 30 can sit, eat, move and swim comfortably. For a company outing, birthday or friends' trip, the better question is how the group will use the boat.

The short answer for a 20- or 30-person group
Ask where people will sit at the same time, how many will be in the water, and whether catering or event equipment will take deck space. Children count toward the actual passenger count; follow the operator's confirmed limit.
- About 20 guests: begin by comparing yachts with published limits around 40–50, then inspect usable space.
- About 30 guests: a 50–65-guest-class yacht is a better first comparison than a boat already at its 30-person maximum.
- The 50–60% comfort rule is a screening guide, not a safety regulation or a promise that every vessel at that ratio feels spacious.
Which currently listed yachts are worth comparing?
For a group near 20, Ocean Symphony has a maximum of 45 and a published rate that includes up to 30 guests. It has an air-conditioned saloon and wide outdoor areas. This can work well when the group wants shade, swimming and a gathering area, subject to the exact layout and date.
For a group near 30, the LORD Party Catamaran lists a maximum of 65 and offers a broad social deck, pool and slide; check which event equipment is actually supplied. BLISS lists a maximum of 50 and is a premium motor-yacht alternative when indoor comfort and a more private setting matter. At 30 guests BLISS is at 60% of its stated maximum, so walk through seating and activity space before assuming it is the better fit.
Ocean Symphony lists a 45-person maximum and includes up to 30 in its published base rate, but 30 people use about two-thirds of that maximum. It may suit some schedules, not automatically a spacious event. A 30-person-maximum yacht such as Prosecco is at its ceiling with 30 guests; it should not be the default recommendation for a comfort-first group.

The published Ocean Symphony rates include up to 30 guests, with an added per-person charge for guests 31–45. Prosecco's starting condition includes 15 guests and adds a charge from guest 16 up to its maximum of 30. These are different commercial terms even though both can list 30 on a booking form.
Do not calculate the final charter by dividing a starting rate by the headcount. A group quote needs the exact date, morning or afternoon slot, charter length, route and optional services. Confirm marina fees, food, alcohol, transfers, decorations, DJ or other event services separately. Prices and allowances on product pages can change; use the written final quotation.

Decide what the group will actually do
A corporate group may need everyone seated for a briefing, shade and a place for refreshments. A birthday group may prefer a larger open deck and music. Families may care more about restrooms, indoor cooling, steps and safe access to the water. The same headcount can point to different boats.
Do not count every guest as if they will use a slide or pool at the same time. Ask about usable areas, life jackets, crew, toilets and the route allowed for the group. A photo is useful for comparing layout, but the operating team must confirm the actual arrangement.
Four hours, longer routes and the final plan
Most Pattaya charters begin with a four-hour format. A typical closer outing may take about one hour to the Monkey Island area, around two hours near the anchorage and about one hour back. A meal, presentation or several activities reduce free time quickly. Selected yachts offer longer durations; routes such as Koh Kham or Koh Larn require separate confirmation.
